In this video, you learn and understand why you’re having problems with your water heater in the attic. And in this video, I will cover the most common water heater used In the Houston, TX and surrounding areas. One of the most water heaters used I can easily say 75% are Bradford White Water heaters followed by Rheem AKA A.O. Smith water heaters And then there’s State water heaters. All these water heater that I have mention have safety devise that are triggered to cut the gas off to the water heater under very hot temperatures and with insufficient airflow/lack of oxygen. Many of the water heater manufacturers are aware of the problem and will assist you once you call their customer service and speak with one of the engineers. Remember before you call have the model of the water heater and serial number (this will be on the side of the water heater) It’s very hot in the attic (Take a picture of the information on the side of water heater needed Then call the manufacture) They will recommend you have a plumber to replace parts for your safety. If you want to save money don’t have the plumber to do the calling and pickup parts. First if all you may not get it done that day because 98% will not have those parts in the truck or van. Trust me 😊 and if they’re lucky to find the parts you need the same day there will be a trip charge involved and parts will be marked up. As a home owner if I were you I would get the part of the manufacture. Most of them will overnight it and if you're under warranty it will cost you nothing for the parts. Water heater warranty manufactures only cover parts not labor.
