This is downtown Minneapolis at First Avenue. The place where Prince got his start. Thousands of people gathered to pay their respects to our hometown hero!
You can actually see Purple Rain in this vlog. It was just slightly raining enough where you could see it in the footage, but it didn't hinder anybodies good time. All the purple lights on the buildings made the rain purple. Seriously??!!!! Amazing.
We got video of all the buildings dressed in purple for the occasion. We even went and got some footage of The Lowry Avenue Bridge and also the 35W bridge. They were both lit up in purple for the night.
It was a genuinely beautiful experience to sing purple rain with all his fans in the rain the night he died. I will remember it forever.
